Our Ministries

At Woodland Park, we want each member to be an active part of the Woodland Park Family. As such, we encourage each member to choose at least one of the ministries listed below to become a member of and to work with on a regular basis.

Baptismal Ministry

Maintains the Baptistry dressing areas, assists those who will be baptized, and supports the new members as they become an integral part of the church family.

Choral Group

Performs Gospel Songs on a variety of occasions. Two groups have been formed, one comprised of adults and the other of youth. Members meet monthly to rehearse and learn new songs.

College Ministry

Encourages evangelism and spiritual commitment among college students. The College Ministry assists, involves, and educates students, especially those who are away from home, through Bible classes, fellowship meals, and recreational activities.

Community Action Ministry

C.A.M. is the Community Action Ministry, or Friends of the Community, of the Woodland Park Church of Christ. It is an intergenerational support group dedicated to demonstrating the love of Christ to the local community by meeting various individual and collective needs.

Deaf Ministry

Through sign language provides equal access to Bible study, worship, fellowship and service for Deaf and hard-of-hearing Christians.  Provides scheduled sign language classes throughout the year for hearing members interested in acquiring basic sign language skills.

Education Ministry

Provides Bible education. Adherence to Bible teaching is the life-blood of the church, and educating our members is paramount in preparing each of us for eternal life. The Bible Education Ministry provides weekly Bible classes for all age groups, small group classes on particular topics, and Vacation Bible School each year.

Health Ministry

Promotes good health by integrating Christianity and medical knowledge. Helps members of the congregation care for one another to help attain, maintain, and/or regain the best health possible for the whole person. Promotes the wellness of Body, Mind, and Spirit.

Marriage Ministry

The Marriage Ministry's mission is to inspire, encourage and equip married couples and those who are preparing for marriage, by providing practical, Biblical resources through seminars, retreats, monthly classes and counseling. The Ministry strives to help each husband and wife to have the heart of Christ so they become a financially, emotionally and spiritually stable union.

Personal Evangelism Ministry

The Personal Evangelism Ministry (PEM) plays a vital part in our church growth by bringing new members to the Lord and helping maintain members who have already obeyed the gospel. This ministry is designed to spread the good news of the gospel and save those who are lost. To that end, we seek to implement whatever programs and methods are appropriate. This ministry consists of four components: Teaching, Hospitality and Greeting, New Members and Restoration.

Singles Ministry

Equips single adults to live a life of purpose through Biblical principles and fellowship. Single Christians, 18 years and over, gather for Bible study, fellowship, and recreation. They also attend Christian singles seminars in other cities.

Sisters Keeping Sisters

The mission of Sisters Keeping Sisters (SKS) is to promote fellowship and develop friendships among sisters who strive to practice the following Christian principles: Love, Unity, and Peace.

Van Ministry

The Church Bus operates every Sunday. It does not operate on Wednesdays. Please contact your zone leader if you need a ride. In addition, if you are a regularly scheduled rider, and you do not need pick up on a particular Sunday; please contact the driver the day before (Saturday) so that he can plan his pick-up route efficiently. If you have any questions and concerns, please feel free to contact Bro. Leo Looney, Deacon (Van Ministry).

Grief Ministry

Wings of a Dove (WOAD) Grief Ministry provides support, uplift and fellowship to anyone who is grieving. This includes the loss of spouses, parents, children, siblings, other family members, and friends.

Youth Ministry

The Youth Ministry is designed to facilitate the holistic development of its children through high school graduation, with an emphasis on spiritual growth and maturity.  The Ministry has three components – Bible Bowl, Youth Service Ambassadors, and Activities.

Zone Ministry

Promotes fellowship among the various zones, which are responsible for reporting illnesses, deaths or hardship cases of their respective members. Each zone is designed to encourage those members who are irregular in worship service and Bible Study and to help with any unusual circumstances. Each zone ministry also sponsors activities to encourage fellowship among its members by holding regular meetings, sponsoring community service projects, having potluck dinners or meals at local restaurants, and attending cultural or recreational events.
